What is included in a APWU retreat?

  • Four night accommodations
  • Delicious and healthy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, all with an emphasis on food local to the region
  • Filtered water, coffee, and tea
  • Fitness classes or activities such as yoga, barre, barre bootcamp, pilates, HIIT/Tabata, or running/jogging

What is not included in a APWU retreat?

  • Airfare to the retreat locale
  • Alcohol not including in APWU menu (see more on alcohol below!)
  • Two dinners during the retreat, which will be held at local restaurants
  • Additional spa treatments
  • Optional gratuities for fitness instructor, spa therapists, or villa staff

How many women attend each APWU retreat?

We limit the group size of each retreat to 8-10 women. intimate size encourages women to form close friendships and bond during their time together.

I’m flying solo on this trip. Will there be other women alone like me?

Absolutely. And though you may start out solo, you won’t be alone.  If you’re open to new experiences, love to travel and liked to be pampered, you’re already in good company! Additionally, we provide an experience that fosters socialization during the retreat so that you are guaranteed to leave with new friends!

My friend and I will both be traveling on a APWU retreat.  Can we room together?

100% –  Please just let us know in advance and we’ll make sure you are sharing a room.

I’m all for being social, but I also like my privacy.  Can I have a single room?

If space permits we will absolutely try our best to honor this request.

I have Four Seasons tastes.  How luxurious are the accommodations?

Oh girl, we got you. Because we love luxury (I mean, check out our insta!), we would never choose accommodations that we wouldn’t choose for ourselves.

Why is APWU just for the ladies? Can men join in?

APWU retreats are tailored specifically for women.  Our focus is to offer a safe, wellness-centered retreat catered to the bodies, diets, and luxuries women seek.

A women’s retreat sound like fun, but I’m not particularly… athletic.  Is this retreat all about fitness? What if I’m not feeling fit? Will I have trouble keeping up?

APWU retreats definitely have a strong fitness components, but all activities are optional!!! Our instructors are boutique fitness trained – meaning they work with clients at every stage of their fitness journey from women who have never stepped foot in a gym, to those that have been attending group fitness classes for years. Small classes allow for individual support and modifications. However, if you’re not up for an exercise class, no worries – lounge by the pool, swim in the ocean, heck stay in bed all day if you want! This is your retreat! No stress, no competition, no judgement.

How long does each exercise session last? And tell me more about these classes…

Each session will be 30-60 minutes long, averaging about 45 minutes. Each session is taught by a certified fitness instructor who will bring their own style, music, and movements to class. We offer a variety of both low and high impact classes during the retreat…. here are our class descriptions:

  • Yoga class vary in length from 45 to 90 minutes. Gentle Yoga Flow is slower paced and easy to follow, blending vinyasa, deep stretches and standing balance poses to awaken the body and clear out stagnant energy. Power Flow is a faster paced class designed to focus on the breath and its relationship to the pose. This class incorporates Vinyasa to systematically works every muscle, gland, and organ in the body with an emphasis on core strength cultivation. With all of your senses stimulated in this upbeat class, you will increase your heart rate, tone and lengthen your muscles, and burn fat while developing strength, flexibility, balance and concentration.
  • Barre is a 45-minute intense, full body toning workout that is set to upbeat and energizing music. Using your own bodyweight as resistance, this ballet inspired class will target the muscles in your arms, thighs, glutes, and abs to the point of fatigue, and then, stretch them for relief. You will also use light hand weights and a small stability ball to effectively work your body and define your muscles like never before.
  • Barre Bootcamp is a 45 minute full body toning workout that combines intervals of cardio with intervals of isometric barre exercises that we do in regular barre class.  This class will get your heart rate up and make you feel toned before slipping into your bathing suit for the rest of the day! AND we’ll take this one to the beach when we can!!
  • Pilates is a 45 minute that will help you increase your flexibility as you flow through a series of dynamic movements that restore balance to core muscles of the lower back and abdominals. The exercises are designed to align, lengthen, and strengthen the body in a unique way. Most movements are non-impact and non-weight bearing.
  • HIIT and Tabata are fast-paced sessions that are also fun and burn up tons of calories! It’s four minutes of high-intensity training, alternating between 20 seconds of max training followed by a 10-second rest for a total of eight rounds. However, modifications can always be made and the instructor will tailor the workout for each participants fitness level.
  • Island Runs & Walks are 30 minutes to 45 minute classes that start with stretching and warm up movements and graduate into steady runs or walks (your choice) lead by your instructor through the neighborhood of Silly Creek Estates, down to the beautiful waters of Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay. You’ll learn how to pace yourself and your breathing whether you’re aiming for a 12 minute mile or a 6 minute mile! We’ll end with another stretching session.

Does the villa have WiFi?

Yes.  As much as we wish we could all unplug while on vacation, sometimes that’s just not feasible.  Complimentary WiFi is available at the villa.

Do I have to participate in all APWU activities?

No, like we said – this is your retreat. You can participate in as many or as few activities as you wish with absolutely no pressure.  If you want to sleep in every morning, read a book and sit by the pool in the afternoon, or turn in early at night, go for it!

I have food allergies/intolerances.  (Or I’m vegetarian.  Or vegan.)  Will there be anything I can eat?

As long as you let us know in advance, we can work with you to accommodate your dietary needs.

Can we drink alcohol on a APWU retreat?

Yes (and check out Instagram our to get a true sense of A Party With Us) However, alcohol is not included in every meal. Whenever possible we will offer a selection of wines and spirits that you can add on for a reasonable supplement. You are always welcome to purchase wine or alcohol locally and consume it during the retreat. Don’t worry, Miranda will be whipping up some really amazing poolside cocktails…

What should I pack?

We will email you a full packing list one month in advance of your trip. Think – exercise clothes, bikinis, sarongs, hats, sunglasses, flip flops, sneakers… you get the idea…

I really like my spa treatments.  Can I arrange for more spa time?

Oooohhh, we like our spa treatments too!  We will offer a spa menu in advance of the retreat from which you can select additional spa treatments like massages, facials, or mani/pedis at a supplemental cost during scheduled free time/spa time!

Do I need to rent a car?

Renting a car is not necessary.  We will assist in arranging your airport transfers to and from the villa, and we will provide complimentary transportation to scheduled excursions during the retreat.  If you anticipate that you will want to go out on your own during the retreat, we can arrange for a taxi or car service for you at your expense.

I’m ready to book!  How do I sign up for a retreat?

Call or email us here. We will send you a booking contract, and you can securely pay the 30% deposit (or the full amount if booking less than 30 days in advance of the retreat) by credit card.
